Code Enforcement

The City of Stockton Police Department - Neighborhood Services Section is responsible for Code Enforcement. For information about properties in Stockton, please print and return this Information Request Form to Neighborhood Services

 

Code enforcement issues include:

  • active or prior code enforcement activity,
  • permit issues, and
  • liens or fines/fees due on a property.

 

Report Code Violations

JunkBuildupIf you see code violations, like those pictured, contact Neighborhood Services with the street address of the violation.

 

We are not able to take anonymous complaints. You must provide your name but it will be kept confidential.

 

Neighborhood Services addresses complaints via:

  • Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program
  • Graffiti Removal Program
  • Hotel/Motel Permitting Program
  • Residential Rental Inspection Program

 

Check for Active Code Enforcement Cases

To check if a property has an active code enforcement case, visit the City's MapGeo Landmaster site.

  • On the page, click “Themes” button at the top.
  • Toggle to “Code Enforcement Cases (Active)” button.
    • This will display dots on locations with active cases.
    • Use the legend below the toggle field to determine the case type.
  • Then select the search icon and enter a property address or assessor’s parcel number.

 

Payoff Demand

To request a payoff demand to remove any recorded notices/liens and obtain balance owed, fax or email a demand request to Neighborhood Services.

 

Requests can only be accepted from:

  • Property Owner
  • Title/Escrow Company
  • Listing Agent  - with copy of Listing Agreement
  • Loan/Mortgage Company - holding note

 

Vacant Properties 

In 2008, the Stockton City Council adopted an urgency ordinance aimed at protecting neighborhoods from blight due to inadequate maintenance or security of vacant buildings and properties.
