WASTEWATER

On August 24, 2010, following the Public Hearing, the City Council approved the rate study and the phased rate increases for wastewater (sewer) services.  The new fees will go into effect on October 1, 2010.  The new rates can be found in the rate study.

STORMWATER

August 24, 2010 was also the Public Hearing to consider mailing ballots for the proposed new Clean Water fee for stormwater services.  Following the Public Hearing, Council approved the rate study and mailing the ballots so voters can consider the new fee.

The ballots will be mailed to all property owners within the stormwater service area on September 7, 2010.  To be counted, ballots need to be returned to the Office of the City Clerk, 425 N. El Dorado, by 4:30 p.m. on October 25, 2010.  The ballots are confidential and can either be mailed or hand delivered.

Informational public meetings will be held in the community on Wednesday September 8, 2010 from 6 to 7:30 pm at the Van Buskirk Community Center, 734 Houston Ave; and on Thursday, September 9, 2010 from 6 to 7:30 pm at the Arnold Rue Community Center, 5758 Lorraine Avenue.  A brief presentation will be made on the proposed new Clean Water fee, after which staff will be available to answer any questions.
