Background

The Victory Park Pool was first constructed in 1948, and the pool was permanently closed in 2013. The City obtained partial funding for the renovation and replacement of the pool from the California Department of Parks and Recreation Proposition 68 (2018 Bond Act).  In March of 2022, the City announced that the remaining funding of $2.7 million was made possible with a California State Parks Local Assistance Specified Grant with a check presentation from Senator Susan Talamantes Eggman.

Project Information

In May 2022, Stockton City Council approved a contract with Studio W Architects of Sacramento, California, for the design of the Aquatic Facilities Renovation and Replacement - Victory Park Pool.

Community outreach began with a community survey to gather information about how community members plan to use the pool.  Due to limitations of space and parking in the area, the pool will be designed for recreational purposes.

The City has has begun the process of identifying potential contractors. Final design is anticipated in April of 2024, with an estimated start date in October 2024 and completion by summer 2025.
