Employee Benefits


Employees can make changes outside of the open enrollment period under a Qualifying Life Event (QLE) within 60 days of the event.  QLEs include, but are not limited to:
  • Birth or adoption of a child
  • Gain or loss of other healthcare coverage
  • Marriage
  • Divorce
Employees can submit QLE requests and applicable supporting documentation through the City's Employee Self Service ESS Platform Employee Self Service.

Life Insurance / Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D)

Employees are also provided life insurance through Lincoln National Life Insurance Company with life insurance benefits of $50,000 for each employee. For some employee bargaining units, Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) benefit is provided.

City Paid Life Insurance Benefit Summary
City Paid Basic Life and AD&D

Miscellaneous employees are provided with long term disability insurance coverage. The benefits of this plan for each disability is approximately 66 2/3% of salary up to the maximum salary replacement amount.
